Chippendale goes JDF (Job Definition Format)
Date:12/12/2007
Chippendale is in the process of rolling out our new MIS system. Together with this and the upgrading of plant machinery several years ago, Chippendale are now able to capitialise on the advanced functionality of JDF that has seen the European print industry move ahead in leaps and bounds over the last decade.
JDF describes print jobs in an electronic manner. It is a comprehensive XML – based message format designed for the exchange of information between different applications and systems used within Chippendale’s operating system.
A JDF file contains the management and production details of a job and this “digital job ticket” will seamlessly adjust the settings of each piece of equipment and at the same time provide real time production information through Chippendale’s MIS system. JDF also provides Chippendale and its clients, monitoring and controlling features for each job from the point where a customer asks for an estimate or places an order, to the delivery of the finished work and the completion of the invoice.
Just another initiative from Chippendale Printing ensuring optimum rationalisation so our clients are accessing the latest technology…and making the journey easier.
